Jim Zettel, PhD, ABSNP

Chief Clinical Officer | Forensic Psychologist  


Dr. Jim Zettel is a licensed forensic psychologist and the Chief Clinical Officer at Optima Forensic, where he also serves as team leader. He earned his PhD in Psychology from Texas Tech University and completed a forensic rotation internship at the Houston VA Medical Center. He holds a diplomate in School Neuropsychology and completed post-doctoral certification in forensic psychology—a collaborative program offered by the Department of Psychology, Center for Psychological Services, and the Saint John's School of Law. 

Dr. Zettel’s clinical and forensic work is grounded in a deep understanding of cognitive functioning, substance use disorders, mood disorders, and complex family dynamics. He specializes in forensic psychological and neuropsychological evaluations, child custody evaluations, expert witness testimony, and court-mandated treatment. 

With a commitment to evidence-based practice and multidisciplinary collaboration, Dr. Zettel provides comprehensive, objective assessments to assist the courts in making informed decisions involving mental health and legal matters.
